All I did was cut strips, I am all for instant gratification (no measuring req.) and just kinda sorta had them in a similar family of colors. Plus I love polka dots too. I had extra strips left over for another project so I held onto the strips that were not used.
I sewed all the strips together, long ways. Creating a rectangular shape of the different kinds of fabric.
Then I flipped the fabric over to the wrong side of the fabric and grabbed 2 different size things, a cup and a bowl to trace. I used a brown crayon, easy enough. I tried to utilize as much of the fabric as poss. Sewing the strips together is a little time consuming but not to bad.

Here's the circles all cut out.I also cut out some small single pattern circles for another project and didn't end up using them so I incorporated them in this dress as well.(They are not shown) But I hand did them, the little dots myself. No tracing req. for those.

One step I didn't picture was the iron on Steam n Seam I used after the polka dots were cut out. I ironed onto the backs of the polka dots and ironed them onto the dress. In no particular pattern, just to cover up where the previous ugly silk Hawaiian flowers were that I cut out. Some of that cutting left holes.Once those were ironed onto the dress, I began to zig zag stitch all the way around the circles. I used a pink thread but you could used any color but white. I like color!
