Indoor Camping..Try it!

Sam turned our living room into a Camping Wonderland this weekend. Seeing that we needed a pick-me-up after last week, I thought it was a great idea. He asked me to take the girls out for about an hour or so so he could do his magic. And I was impressed to say the least. He used sheets to create the canopy and moved the couches and blew up the air mattress. It was a sight. Carys' jaw dropped and Bay squealed like a little piggy! Hilarious! We had treats, popcorn and watched Prince of Egypt. What a precious movie by the way for kiddos. It was such a sweet time for a family to reconnect after the mess of last week. ( An update on that...) During Relay for Life I had to be rushed to the ER for emergency surgery. I ended up having a tubal pregnancy which was a huge shock to Sam and I. Although very painful and devastating, we are recovery OK. We had so much help though. All the people that pulled together to help with food, flowers, prayers and more, words can not thank you all enough. You allowed us to be together as a family and rest. And that has been so very important to us. So thank you again many times over. OK so our weekend was fun and I hope to be better at catching you all up on us. Thanks for stopping by...

I'm Blessed

“All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.” (Heb. 12:11-13)

Could this be any more clear to me right now.
Stop complaining
Get on my knees and shut up
And Pray.

Carys and God

Carys.."When you go to Heaven do you still have Jesus in your heart"?
Mom.."Well yes, and you get to meet Jesus too".
Carys.."Do you get to keep your eye's"?
Mom.."Yes".
Carys.."Oh good cause thats the only thing I remmembered"?
Mom.."Giggle"(inside not on the outside)
Carys.."How do you spell Jesus"?
Mom.." J-E-S-U-S"
Carys.."oh ok I knew that".

Thank You Sam !

Here is a BIG THANK YOU to Sam for making a way for me to take a trip to So.Cal for my very first ladies retreat in early Jan. You can imagine how difficult it is to prepare or even make a choice to go when you have a family. But Sam was all for it and I have had my heart set on going ever since Jen Jenkins told me about her retreat that her Awesome church does every year. It was quite a sacrifice this year being that it falls on Sam and I's 4 year anniversary. Bummer huh. But we are used to every year being so crammed with Christmas then 2 weeks later our anniversary then my Bday 2 weeks after that. Yes, it's a mess! So I feel blessed and oh so lucky to have the chance to go and have a true retreat. So as I look forward to all God as for me that weekend, Thank you Sam for being so supportive. I love you...Your Wife

In Real life

The REAL life Nativity we saw in Carmel last weekend. Pretty cool for the girls especially Carys who constantly thinks Baby Jesus and Big Jesus are two different Jesus's. It's kinda cute. But we just happened to drive by and got to catch a glimpse. Really cool and refreshing to see during Christmas these days.

Thanksgiving feast 07

This was our 1 st official Thanksgiving with my side of the family. Dinner went better than expected. Between the 10 phone calls to Sam's mom with help for our 'Bird' we pulled through and all sat down around 3 ish. It truly was a special time for me to be with my family. It's a rarity. The girls had a blast as usual and we all had lemon meringue and pumpkin pie for dessert. I am still very grateful for this time with all of them. Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was as sweet as our's was.We missed our AZ friends and wondered how they were all doing that day. Our neighborhood is truly irreplaceable. We love all of you so much.

Monterey Living

Ok so.. We have all been out of commission for awhile and I thought I would update you while I had a quick minute. Sam and I moved back to Monterey approx. 3 weeks ago. What a trip! Literally! Family is great. The girls are still adjusting I think. Carys misses home more than her little vocabulary will allow her to describe. Her friends, Trenton, Tanner, Forrest, Avery, Taylor, Ryan, trust me the list goes on. She even made me cry a couple times. Her home she says, 'She wants back'. And her room with Bay. It's just not the same for her here yet. As for Bay, well she has been teething ever since we got here. She has had 6 teeth through in a matter of 3 weeks. Craziness people just pure Madness I tell ya!
As for Sam, LOVES LOVES LOVES his job and all the opportunities God has provided out here for him.He is extremly driven and demands alot of himself. God and him have BIG PLANS I tell ya. And for myself, I have had my moments. As I am sure all of you know or can imagine. i miss my nieghborhood, my cherished friendships, just like our family out there. Something is missing here at home now. And I can't wait to see them all soon! :)
Sam and I head out tonight for our first date night in many months together. So excited. Christine and I got our hair did today too. What a treat after this whirlwind of a move.
Pictures to come.. just haven't been able to find my connector to the computer yet, bummer! I'll get on it soon though.
All our love to Arizona and we MISS YOU MORE THAN WORDS, trust me!
Catch up soon- Mama Phillips
