'Mom, is that John McCain?'
I say, 'No, that's Barak Obama. He's our new president of the United States of America.'
She ponders for a moment and say's,
'Mom, Barak Obama and John McCain look alike.'
I try and curb my bursting laughter and try and spit out, 'Really how so?'
She goes onto say,' Well they both have bald heads with white hair.'
Not being able to control my laughter at this point but realizing the magnitude of her observation I smile because I am hearing how she is seeing and it's glorious! To her, Barak's hair is short enough to be bald and with careful observation on her part, no one elses, she saw strands of gray hair. Hilarious! That would be the definite similarity between him and McCain. Enough to look alike to her. I think it blessed my heart and confirmed in me as a mom when most days I feel like I am doing nothing right. The biggest crew up in motherhood history, God reveals this little moment to me between us.That she see's no color. I never have had to and never will have the talk about differences in race with my girls. My mom didn't and it's never been an issue. Maybe sometimes a little too naive I am called by my friends for that but it's a wonderful naive and I wouldn't have it any other way.
