Roughin it

Plaskett Creek has been a place 4 generations of my side of the family has camped at. From my dad's parents all the way down to my girls now. So this Labor day weekend Sam and I loaded up our kiddos and along with my dad and bro headed about 2 hours south past Big sur and spent the weekend roughin it. Ok Ok I know what your thinking...Zoe! roughin it. But ha, you may be surprised and even a little shocked to hear but I come from a family of campers. A little known fact that might be new to those ears of yours. My parents were hippies, the best kind of course, and we camped all my childhood into my teens. But ya, Plaskett is not for the weary. No showers, no bathrooms (porta potty's only) and absolutely No Open Flame fires. Just us and the stove. But it was some time we all needed to just be dirty and be together. Sand dollar beach is right across the street, where my lil bro slaughtered em (meaning fish) on Thurs. He is one with nature. With all the fire damage after the Basin Complex fire though it's a sad sight to locals who have enjoyed the unbelievable sights of Big Sur. I think it's the most beautiful place I have ever camped at. Really! You gotta come and see it for yourself. Anyway, w are home now, clean and warm but with a tons of memories about our trip. Carys kept telling me the entire time we were there,' Mom, I love you and I love camping'! Precious! Bay just enjoyed being dirty.Enjoy!

There's something about the outdoors that the little ones just love, maybe it's theres not as many rules (I don't know?), but what ever it is, they love it! I'm glad you guys had fun!
