Carys was a champ at the dentist on Tues. She walked right in there like she had a mission and saw it through. She even let them take xrays and a cleaning which happens to be like 10 times more than what they did the last 2 times we have been. I ended up knowing the asst who took the xrays and cleaning really well from highschool so that was comforting for us both.I was an asst for about 6 years before Motherhood so I knew a little you could say but was shocked, I don't even know if that's the right word for those who know me, when they found a suspicious spot on tooth J. For those of you who don't know, children's teeth are not number until their permanent teeth come in so they are counted by the alphabet. Yes, not a cavity yet but we needed to keep an eye on it and floss and brush 2 a day, which is recommended. Geeze, what a blow to my pride to knowledge of my children's personal hygiene. Well I am on it now, never fear. Carys is pumped about the flossing part too which makes our lives much much easier. And a bit of info, children start seeing the dentist at age one now. Mostly to go over oral health with the parents and get children acquainted with the whole dentists office thing. As parents we don't sometimes consider all the things we do that could affect their teeth i.e. ummm like a ton of juice and milk or formula, not brushing or flossing and yes, people I know it sounds dumb but we've all down it, got em down to bed and realized they didn't brush their teeth and say oh well forget I'll get extra good in the morning, Nope! I am so guilty! No more of that nonsense. That is pure laziness on my part! It's so important to your kiddos, it's their smile for goodness sakes!
